New Delhi, April 6 (KNN) The Ministry of Chemistry and Fertilizers has made it compulsory for a number of synthetic yarns, chemicals to bear Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) approved mark to protect the interest of public.
A specified format has been released which would include name of the good, Indian standard number and tile for Indian standard.
The goods listed are 100 per cent polyester spun grey and white yarn (PSY), Polyester Industrial Yarn, Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF), polyester partially oriented yarn (POY), Polyester Fully Drawn Yarn, Linear alkyl benzene, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, Maleic anhydride, Styrene (Vinyl Benzene), Polyethylene (PE) for moulding and extrusion, and synthetic micro-fiber used in cement based matrix.
Any person who contravenes the provisions shall be punishable under the BIS rules, said the order.
The order is only applicable to the specified goods and shall not apply to goods meant for export.
The rule comes into force from 3rd October, 2022 for all the synthetic yarns, Linear alkyl benzene, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, Polyethylene (PE) for moulding and extrusion, and for the remaining goods its applicable from 24th October. (KNN Bureau)
