Teijin develops 100% recycled ‘cotton-like’ polyester yarn | Materials & Production News | News

TOKYO – Teijin Frontier, the Teijin Group’s fibres and products converting company, has announced the development of what it calls a ‘cotton-like’ high-performance polyester yarn made from 100 per cent recyclable materials for athleisure fashion and outdoor apparel.

While Teijin’s latest innovation has the texture and aesthetic of cotton, the 70 denier yarn count thread boasts a number of functionalities brought about through the use of polyester filament, including moisture absorption, quick drying and UV protection.
