Hosiery retailing giant opts for Iluna Group’s eco tights line made from recycled yarns.
Knitting Industry | Milan
Calzedonia has chosen the refined products of the Green Label line by Iluna Group, for its new Eco Collection of tights. Beautiful, innovative and responsible, the yarns and resultant tights are Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, made with recycled yarns, even in the stretch part.
The premium ingredients used in the collection are:
-Q-Nova by Fulgar, an eco-sustainable nylon 6.6 fibre obtained from regenerated rawmaterials through a mechanical process that does not involve the use of chemical materials
Q-Nova has been certified with the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and for some time now has been part of the Higg Index, the index developed by SAC (Sustainable Apparel Coalition), evaluating the environmental impact of the entire life cycle of a garment
-Roica EF by Asahi Kasei, the first recycled stretch yarn certified Global Recycled Standard (GRS) able to complete proposals that offer design, performance and responsibility
The collaboration confirms, Iluna's commitment to creating products with a high level of creative design and environmental responsibility thanks to a technological and corporate system that covers the entire production, from materials to processing, dyeing and finishing.
An industrial reality that increasingly integrates the value of responsibility, as demonstrated by the fact that the percentage of sustainable production has risen from 3% in 2018 to 52% in 2021.
Iluna Group was founded in 1970 by Luigi Annovazzi with the production of preformed cups for bras. In 1985 Iluna acquires the Ondoli plant in Cuggiono, specialized in the totally
vertically integrated production of elastic lace. The products that constitute the core business of the group are microfiber and tulle fabrics, rigid and elastic lace for outerwear, underwear, corsetry and beachwear, hosiery and seamless garments with Karl Mayer technology.
Since 2014, Iluna Group has distinguished itself by intertwining the values of beauty, innovation and responsibility thanks to Iluna Lab, a research and development centre where laces are conceived and designed to become sustainable ingredients in a contemporary wardrobe. The smart values are attested by the certification STeP - Sustainable Textile Production by OEK-TEX for its ethical approach.
Iluna is also the first lace manufacturer to be awarded the GRS - Global Recycled Standard for processed products, and whose products are all OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. Furthermore, Iluna presents an exceptional range of natural colours made from flowers and plants and a colour chart with 16 shades, which is continuously expanding. All dyes are GOTS certified and meet the requirements of OEKO TEX Standard 100.
