India has initiated a probe into the alleged circumvention of anti-dumping accountability imposed on High Tenacity Polyester Yarn (HTPY) originating imported from China, in keeping with an utility filed through Reliance Industries Limited.
“The application has been filed by Reliance Industries Limited. The applicant is a major producer in India,” the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) mentioned in a notification, including that the applying is supported through Wellknown Polyesters Limited.
HTPY is used for the manufacture of tyre wire material, seat belt webbing, ropes, unmarried wire, lined material, conveyer belt material, rubberized hose and fireplace hose.
The finance ministry had imposed the anti-dumping accountability at the product imported from China on July 9, 2018 and it’s in drive until July 8, 2023.
As in step with the notification, the anti-dumping accountability levied at the product is being circumvented through Chinese manufacturers through exporting it after changing the outline, title or composition of the topic items. It additionally cited the imports of product have higher most effective after the imposition of anti-dumping accountability because the grounds for alleged circumvention.
“The authority hereby initiates an anti-circumvention investigation…to consider extension of existing anti-dumping duty on imports,” DGTR mentioned.
The duration of investigation is 2021-22.
