Today, Ralph Lauren celebrates 17 years of being the official outfitter of the US Open Tennis Championships. In commemoration, they’ve unveiled their 2022 US Open campaign, highlighting stylish on-court uniforms and a collection of apparel and accessories. Over the years, the storied fashion brand has notably provided uniforms for over 250 on-court officials and 400 ball crew members. This year, Ralph Lauren’s continues to deepen their partnership with the US Open with a collection that embodies the energetic essence of tennis, exhibiting vibrant colors such as bursts of orange and green, and showcasing abstract prints inspired by tennis court lines. The brand has also revealed two distinct sunglass designs rooted in the Havana colorway as part of their commitment to becoming the Official Sunglass Sponsor of the US Open, as of this year.
While remaining true to their timeless aesthetic, Ralph Lauren has also incorporated sustainability into their manufacturing process, crafting their ball crew Polo shirt with high-quality yarn derived from recycled plastic bottles. In 2021, Ralph Lauren and Wilson Sporting Goods collected over 540 lbs of Wilson plastic tennis ball cans for yarn production— an innovative effort that both brands intend to continue.
